A cool blast hit Melbourne in the late morning on Thursday, and sent the temperature in what had been, until then, a hot and sticky city, plunging by almost 10 degrees within half an hour. Things warmed up a bit later on in the afternoon, with the temperature spiking upwards to more than 25 degrees in the CBD, but will drop back back to the low 20s after about 6pm. Temperatures are a little lower around the suburbs, with Moorabbin recording about 22 degrees at 4.30pm, while Laverton had dropped to 23 degrees. However Ballarat was still at 29 degrees....
